Now, let's get to work...
This summer I have been reading like CRAZY. I love it. I love summer reading... nice, easy, fun reads. I think I'm almost ready to get into some deeper, thought provoking books for fall/winter. Almost. I have been amazing myself with how quickly I have been devouring books lately. It helps to be staying at my parents...a couple extra eyes and hands to keep my family running while I hide behind my books.
When I am totally into a book, I take it everywhere. I stick it in my purse, so I can sneak a chapter at the doctor's office or a paragraph at a red light. I bring it to the kitchen, so I can read when I'm waiting for the water to boil for the mac n' cheese (see, I'm not totally ignoring my children). I stay up late (really late) on the couch, so as not to keep Tom awake with the bedside lamp (has anyone tried those clip-on book lights?) Reading poolside is nice, but I'm often distracted (you know, making sure the kids don't drown). I think my favorite reading spot is in the car on a road trip. Where are your favorite reading places?
I hope you are enjoying the end of the summer book reading. Check out my goodreads and share your books! www.goodreads.com/review/list/1336404 (I hope that gets you there, I can't figure out how to link it...it's got to be easier to do than I'm making it.)

I'm glad you're back!
I'm a seriel reader like you. Kraig teases me about it--how and where I read. BUT, I've never tried to read at a stop light before. That's super impressive.
I'm glad you added me as a friend of Goodreads. You can add your current updates automatically to your blog from goodreads, just copy the html (I did it--it updates automatically for the books I read and the stars I gave them)
I must admit that I went through the same identity crisis as you about Brenda's blog. Her's is so fun and cool and I really wanted mine to be too. Then I realized that mine (just like yours) is super cool just because it's mine, not because it's just like Brenny's. Well done!
Wow, I've never felt so much blog luv. Thanks guys. :)
I'm a serial reader too. Books on tape have stopped me from actually catching a paragraph at a stop light, but I'm sure I wouldn't have been far behind. I've always heard of people who do that...
I go through genre phases. Okay, mostly 'mystery, YA, Childrens, and general fiction' phases. I can't read too many of any of them before I have to take a break.
So, I'm totally excited to hear about Whitney's wedding! I was thinking about you guys all day on Friday. I hope you had a great day!
Maybe we should start a support group--we're not as good at blogging as Brenda :) I keep trying, but I have accepted my short comings and I am moving on. (Is that step 12, I can never remember).
Anyway, I love reading, too. Although I find that I completely neglect my kids and house, when I am in the middle of a book. While Mike was home, we listened to Harry Potter, The Sorcerer's Stone. Adam actually listened to it, too.
Hey Robin-Hook me up with your blog, so I can peek in on your life. :)
