Thinking Positive

"Freezing my butt off"

Boy, am I grateful for the seatwarmers in our cars!

Brrrrrrrrr.

I know there are cold temps all over the midwest/east coast this week.  But HELLO it is beyond cold up here. What a way to welcome us back, Minnesota.  I've lost count-3 or 4 days of sub zero weather.  We are hoping to move up above zero this afternoon.  The kids got yesterday and today off...no snow, just super frigid. (The first day off of school is fun...day 2, boring. Plus, it's not like a snow day when you can go out to enjoy the snow...you have to just suffer inside-talk about cabin fever!)

I don't know if you can appreciate how cold it is, unless you have actually experienced it.  It is so cold it hurts...one guy on the news described it as having daggers thrown into your face.  It's so cold you can't breathe-your nose freezes together and you start coughing because of the cold air in your lungs.   Our temps have been in the -20's and -30's.  Yep, that's the real temp, not even including wind chill.  Okay, so you are thinking "C'mon that's like a 3am when no one is outside".  Nope, that's just during the day.  FYI when I dropped kiddos off at school on Wed morning it was -11, windchill -33.  Having weathered a few MN winters (ave temp this time of year is around 2o...not including the ever-present windchill factor), I know we usually get a couple of days like this, once in a while.  But, to have them bunched up like this---eeek!

Here's hoping that we get out of the frigid-ness today!

Brrr!!! I can't imagine that kind of cold for so long, and I lived in Wyoming. You'd think Minnesota was happier to have you back.

So, have you started breaking down furniture to warm your house yet? Don't you have a fireplace in the middle of your first floor? I thought that was your house, maybe I'm wrong...

BaaaHhhaaaa! That was so funny!

Stay inside. make a fire (with that furniture Brenny mentioned) and make bread and soup. That sounds warming to me.

What a bummer! I just dropped Abby off at school without a coat. Want to come and spend a warmer week here?

Jayne-I thought you meant she forgot her coat, not that she didn't need one! Wow. Yeah, I definitely want a warmer week there-or anywhere!
