Photo Update

Okay, I'm back online...here are some pictures, in reverse order, of the month of December.  I haven't plugged the camera in since we moved back home, so this is just up until Christmas Eve.  Things are going fine back in MN.  The drive went well (as well as can be expected with two cars, two parents, four kids, and a dog)-the roads were good the whole way.  We are busy getting re-settled here, but it's not too difficult.  In fact, it's kinda trippy-like the past 7/8 months have just been a two week vacation, and now we are back to real life.  This past year has been crazy, but it's nice to be home.  It is DANG cold though.

Christmas Eve excitement

This year my family had a Christmas Eve pie contest...Whit's Key Lime won.
We did lots of baking.
The family curse...Santa cookies.  So cute, but labor intensive!  It was nice doing them with my mom this year.
My mom did a gingerbread house with the boys...the amazing thing: it survived three weeks before being eaten.
The boys took ski lessons at Brighton-and loved it.  Here's Aidan, Tom, and Cade on the lift.
Cade loved skiiing!  He likes "to go fast on the big mountain."
Aidan is a snowboarder.
The lessons were a gift from my ski-bum mom, I'm sure she's sad we aren't there for the rest of the season, but she has definitely started some skiiers to go with her in the future.
Aidan's Christmas concert
He loved wearing this Santa hat we found at my mom's house.
We took the kids on the Polar Express...which deserves a post on it's own.
Quite the adventure...FYI trains wait for no one.
Colin had a hard time focussing on his singing...he was loving the mirror in the dance room they did their concert in.
Colin's preschool concert.
We were so busy in December-we wore everyone out!
My family still goes crazy with the holiday lights...one more strand to Griswall status?
The Alpine Elementary concerts were really quite cute and pretty quick, the perfect combination.
Cade's kindergarten concert.
We tried to get a family picture, but Colin was being stubborn...
More skiing
and snowboarding.
Tom finished work on the 12th, so he was able to spend LOTS of time with us-and made it to all the festivities and concerts at school.  It was great to have him home so much...maybe he should get into academia, I could go for the professor lifestyle.
Sunset from my parents porch...before the snows of Decemeber came.
Aidan played basketball this year (Tom got talked into coaching), it ended in Nov, but I thought I'd throw in a pic since I'm overloading you all with pictures.

So that's that.  I'll catch you up on the rest later.  :)

I didn't realize that your move to Utah wasn't permanent. Hope you're getting settled well in MN!

Well, when we moved it was supposed to be permanent. What can I say...it just didn't take. :)

Wow! Busy busy but oh so fun. I can't believe your kiddos are skiing and even snowboarding!! Way to go Aiden! I could totally imagine Cade skiing full speed down the hill. He's your 'hard to catch' boy, right? Boys...one more reason Dan would love a little boy to hit the slopes with. Some day maybe? You got your girl so there's always hope.

Great post -- it made me giggle the whole way through. I loved all the pictures, although Tom did not look happy about being a professor. :) The family picture was classic. Colin makes me laugh!

I'm glad you made it safe. Thanks for the birthday wishes -- I did get your voice mail. If you get a chance, go to my blog and post a guess! I'd love to send you a house warming gift card to Borders so you can relax with a good book once the packing is done!

this was a great post. The pictures all looked very good, nice focus and natural lighting. I am amazed by the Santa cookies, rosy cheeks and all.
